que lui confère l’expérience, allant à l’essentiel, dans un geste aussi rapide que précis, héritage de la pratique des arts martiaux, de la méditation

et du rock, qui constituent avec le Living Théâtre, le background de sa culture originelle et qui nourrit la puissance graphique et conceptuelle de ses déclarations, sonnant chacune comme un ultimatum.

'Mon esthétique est dans l’affirmation du « fait-main » agrafage de bandes

de carton et écritures à la main sur des couleurs franches. Les Statements

peuvent se présenter en groupe, en ligne ou isolés.

Enfin, les Statements peuvent être directement peints sur les murs ou

imprimés sur de très grandes bâches libres' ".

"We've gone back to the basics: cardboard cut-outs, sticky paper and push pins, writing in paint or chalk, bricolage that conveys the meaning of the moment, the immediacy, the urgency of the statement and the simplicity of the message. Georges Autard shows the great freedom that experience has given to him. He goes to the heart of the matter with gestures that are as quick as they are precise, a heritage of martial arts practice, meditation and rock music. These, along with the Living Theater form the background to his original culture and fuel the graphic and conceptual power of his statements, each of which sounds like an ultimatum.

My aesthetic is in the affirmation of the 'hand-made', stapling strips of cardboard stapling strips of card and hand-writing on bold colours.

The Statements can be presented as a group, in a line or on their own. Finally, the statements can be painted directly onto the walls or printed on a very large and free-standing canvas.”

GEORGES AUTARD

born on 17 April 1951 in Cannes. He obtained a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Provence, Marseille in 1976.

Georges Autard is professor emeritus at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts, Marseille.
